Questioning Genres - HideOut Workshops

What actually is a genre, and how does it impact what you define as your own music? Is it limiting, or is it helpful? This discussion based workshop will challenge your idea of a genre by deep diving into the definition and subconscious expectations that exists in the term 'genre' throughout music world.

Our unique workshops are a different take on education, specially designed to deep-dive into the techniques and processes behind your world. We aim to create a safe, structured learning space for you, challenging your creative process with new perspectives and ideas. All this happens in a friendly atmosphere of creative people just like you.

This in-person, 2 hour session kicks off with networking, flowing into free-flow style discussion which extrapolates differences in genres, and discussing questions such as: Should the idea of a genre exist?, Are you limited by the genre you play in?, and Do you believe that some music should never be combined?. 

It is open to all attendees, but is recommended for musicians with some prior experience in music creation and collaboration.
