About the Event
What actually is a genre, and how does it impact what you define as your own music? Is it limiting, or is it helpful?
This collaborative workshop will challenge your idea of a genre by looking into the unspoken divides that exists in the music world through discussion, and hands-on collaborative songwriting and practice with other musicians.
Our unique workshops are a different take on education, specially designed to deep-dive into the techniques and processes behind your world. We aim to create a safe, structured learning space for you, challenging your creative process with new perspectives and ideas. All this happens in a friendly atmosphere of creative people just like you.
This 3 hour session kicks off with networking, and discussion where we will be discussing and challenging the modern day image and categorisation of genre, giving you the opportunity to speak with fellow musicians. We will then take segments of the conversation to form the structure of a collaborative songwriting challenge with other musicians present. There will be a short break in the middle of the session.
It is open to all attendees, however, it will include songwriting elements and is therefore only recommended for musicians with some prior experience in music creation and collaboration.
